Presentation of Mogilev region in Moscow

On October 25, 2017 there was a presentation of Mogilev region, held at Business and Cultural Complex of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia.

It was the first time in Moscow, when Belarusian regions presented  their economic, investment, travel potentials, as well as cultural and historical heritage at one place.

The event was opened by temporary charge d'affaires of the Republic of Belarus in Russian Federation Yuri Yaroshevich, who emphasized successful and effective presentation of Belarusian regions.  Today it is the sixth event of such format.

“Presentations promote continuing growth of goods turnover between Belarus and Russia, increase in Belarusian goods supply. The results of goods turnover from January till August 2017 between our countries has made up more than 20 billion USD, that is already 20 per cent more than the value in the previous year”, — said the diplomat.

 

By addressing participants of the event Chairman of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Domanevsky mentioned that Mogilev region is one of the main industrial regions of Belarus, which are presented by more than 180 enterprises.

“The region cooperates with almost 120 countries of the world. The main foreign trade partner traditionally is the Russian Federation. Export ratio of goods to Russia in 2016 was 73%. Agreements  for cooperation are signed with 24 Russian regions”, — said the Head of the region.

Vladimir Domanevsky also paid attention that Mogilev region has territories with special tax regulation – free economic zone “Mogilev” and South-East territory of the region. Technological park “Mogilev” successfully operates as an organization of innovative infrastructure and helps small innovative enterprises in their development.

In the Hall of festivities and ceremonies and the marble Hall guests had an opportunity to get acquainted with  products of largest enterprises of Mogilev region: OJSC “babushkina krynka”, OJSC “Mogilev Meat-Packing Plant”, OJSC “Bobruisk meat processing Plant”, OJSC “Bobruisk factory of vegetable oils”, OJSC “Bykhov vegetable can factory”, OJSC “Krasny pischevik”, OJSC “Belshina”, JSC “Bakery-confectionery company “Domochay”, JSC “Mogotex”, OJSC “Stas international”, OJSC “Klimovichi plant of alcoholic beverages” and others.

In the framework of plenary session programme Deputy Chairman of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Victor Nekrashevich presented economic potential of the region, Chairman of Mogilev City Executive Committee Vladimir Tsumarev described construction complex and twin-city development in Mogilev, Director of State Utility Unitary Enterprise “Mogilevoblturist” Elena Karpenko told about historical and cultural potential of Mogilev region.

The plenary session resulted in signing the following documents: Plan of events for implementation of the Agreements, concluded between Mogilev Regional Executive Committee and the Government of Tula region from 2018 till 2019; Protocol for cooperation between Prefecture of East Administrative District of Moscow and Mogilev regional Executive Committee; Agreements between Healthcare Institution “Mogilev City Hospital with Emergency medical Services” and state-financed health institution “City Clinical Hospital named after F.I. Inozemtsev of Moscow Department of health”.

One could taste products of food enterprises, see presentation of exhibition project “Mogilev region in the retrospect of time”, as well as watch performances of groups from Mogilev Regional Philharmonia.

Participants of the event included members of Federal Council of the Russian Federation, representatives of Moscow Government Administration, Moscow region and more than 30 Russian regions, diplomatic missions, accredited in Moscow, and business communities.

The presentation was organized by Mogilev branch of Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation.
