Beef and dairy tour in North Dakota
From November 26 till December 3, 2017 there was a business visit of Belarusian delegation to North Dakota, the USA. The visit took place with participation of State Association “Belarusian Association for Livestock Breeding”, Republican Unitary Enterprise “Vitebsk Livestock Breeding Enterprise”, Republican Unitary Joint Production Enterprise “Mogilev Livestock Breeding Enterprise”, JSC “Bobruisk meat processing plant”, JSC “Bobruisk plant of bread products”, branch “Luch” of OJSC “Berioza cheese-producing plant”and LLC “Stas International”. Belarusian delegation was headed by Head of Main Department for Livestock Intensification of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Natallia Sonich and Head of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of Mogilev Rehional Executive Committee Valery Semenov. The topic of the visit was to study experience of beef and dairy livestock breeding, as well as visit exhibition of agricultural crops Northern Crops Expo and beef cattle exhibition North Star Beef Classic, Valley City.
In the framework of the visit Belarusian delegation saw a range of beef and dairy farms of the USA and conducted negotiations withNorth Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, representatives of North Dakota Trade Office and President and Secretary/ Treasurer of red Angus Association Bryan and Emmy Huber on establishment of cooperation and solving issues with purebred beef cattle, semen and embryos export to the territory of the republic of Belarus, as well as preparation of all the necessary veterinary documentation. Also they raised the point, devoted to the attraction of investors and opening of a joint venture for red Angus breeding at the territory of the Republic of Belarus with opportunity to export of marbled beef to the Russian Federation and European countries in future. Americans agreed to come to Belarus and conduct workshops in beef cattle nutrition and butchering for Belarusian agricultural specialists and students.
