When in 1599 merchants from French city of Marseilles founded the first chamber of commerce they couldn’t imagine what impact it would have on the humanity progress. For the last 400 years no other venture contributed so greatly to the development of industry and trade as chambers of commerce. By overcoming national and territorial barriers they unite states and continents. They stimulate economic growth, implementation of modern technologies, commerce, know-how, intellectual property, strengthen legal bases of today civilized business.
Belarusian chamber of commerce dates back to 23 December 1952, on that day by the decision of Minister council of USSR, All-union chamber of commerce was entitled to found its own office in Minsk. 20 years later that office was reorganized into the Chamber of commerce of Belarusian Soviet socialist republic. After the Republic of Belarus acquired its state independence and sovereignty in 1991, the Chamber of commerce of Belarusian Soviet socialist republic was renamed as Belarusian chamber of commerce and industry (BelCCI).
